Last modified: September 2, 2009 - 2:09 PM
Port Stephens Council is celebrating Adult Learners’ Week with a series of free adult workshops throughout September at Tomaree Library and Community Centre.
Speaking today, librarian Sue Leverington said the library was able to put on the free courses due to a grant from the State Library of NSW.
"We were fortunate to win a grant to deliver five two-hour courses to celebrate Adult Learners’ Week," she said.
"All adults are welcome to take part in the courses," Mrs Leverington said.
"It doesn’t matter what your knowledge level is, the lessons are designed to be both educational and fun," she continued.
The following free courses are available during September;
· Computers Q&A on Thursday 17 September – questions about basic computing answered.
· Mobile Phones on Thursday 17 September – how to write and send text messages.
· Facebook on Monday 21 September – hands on instruction on how to use the social networking site.
· Knitting Basics and Beyond on Tuesday 22 September
· Digital Camera on Wednesday 23 September – camera basics and uploading images.
