Membership & Borrowing

Membership is Free!

All you need to do is complete an application form and provide proof of identity with your current name and address such as your driver's licence, pension card, DSS card, student card or rate notice.

If you are under 17 you will need an adult family member or guardian to sign for your membership and they must provide appropriate identification.

You will be issued with a card which you need to bring to the library in order to borrow. Please notify the library immediately if your card is lost or damaged.

Also notify the library if you change your name, address or phone number. If your card is lost or damaged, a replacement charge of $5.70 incl. GST applies.

With this card you can use all Port Stephens Library Branches or and branch of Newcastle Region Library. You may borrow up to ten items per visit with a maximum of 30 items permitted on loan at one time.

Borrowing

Library Members may borrow up to 10 items per visit.

The following loan periods apply:

Items may be renewed if they have not been requested by another customer.
Items that are not returned by their due date will attract an overdue fee.
No overdue fees are charged for items borrowed by children on their own cards.
