Each year Council receives a significant number of noise complaints which are investigated by an Environmental Health Officer. These complaints include:
Offensive noise is defined as any noise which if offensive to a person on another residential property due to its level, character, tone or due to the time at which it is made. Council has a range of enforcement options including a Noise Control Notice, Noise Abatement Directions and Prevention Notice. A Penalty Infringement Notice may be issued or legal action taken for non-compliance with these notices. Restricted Times
