Noise Control

Last modified: November 1, 2009 - 12:32 AM

Each year Council receives a significant number of noise complaints which are investigated by an Environmental Health Officer.

These complaints include:

  • Neighbourhood noise such as cars, machinery, loud music, drums etc
  • Equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerator units, pool/spa pumps, building/car alarms
  • Noisy animals such as barking dogs or crowing roosters

Offensive noise is defined as any noise which if offensive to a person on another residential property due to its level, character, tone or due to the time at which it is made.
