Household Bulk Waste Pick Up

What is accepted in your annual bulk waste collection and when is it?

Residential properties of Port Stephens Council receive an annual bulk waste/metal pick up service.

The collection is usually in the first 6 months of the year.

The dates for the 2009 bulk waste collection are below.

Please place your bulk waste out on the Sunday prior to your collection commencing. 

9 - 13th February 16 - 20th February 23 - 27th February 2 - 6th March 9 - 13th March

You will be notified of the clean up via a flyer in the mail a few weeks prior to the collection.

Guidelines for the bulk & metal waste pick up:

  • Bulk and metal waste must be placed in two separate piles
  • Only household waste will be collected
  • Place your waste on your kerbside the Sunday prior to your collection date. Fines may be received for placing waste on the kerbside prior to this date.
  • Your waste will be collected any time during the week of your collection, but only once
  • Consider your neighbours: do not place waste out too early and keep your piles tidy

Commercial waste

Asbestos or fibreglass

.

Chemicals or liquid waste (including paint)

Green Waste of any kind

.

Gas cylinders

.

Items larger than 1.8 meters

.

Waste that requires more than two people to lift it

 

Missed Services

 

If your bulk or metal waste was not collected during your specified period, please check that your waste met the above requirements. If it does not, it is your responsibility to remove the waste from the kerbside. If it meets the above requirements please contact our Customer Service Centre on 4987 7997.
