Last modified: November 10, 2009 - 11:15 AM
The Bedminster Waste Composting Facility produces compost from the organic portion of your garbage using the 'Bedminster' process.
The Bedminster Waste Composting Facility is located on Newline Road, Raymond Terrace.
The facility uses the 'Bedminster' technology to turn the organic component of your mixed waste into compost. This facility, along with kerbside recycling, has reduced total waste to landfill in Port Stephens by more than 63%. All of the waste material placed in your RED lidded GARBAGE bin is sent to the Bedminster Waste Composting Facility. To ensure high quality compost is produced and the composting system is not damaged, the following items should NOT be placed in your garbage or recycling bin:
- Batteries
- Chemicals, pesticides and paints
- Gas bottles and pressurised containers
- Large pieces of rope, garden hose and pipes
- Carpet, mattresses and large pieces of fabric
- Large car parts
- Electrical items
- Bulky items
