Green Power

GreenPower is government accredited clean, renewable energy sourced from sun, water, wind and waste.

We all know that greenhouse gases are a problem and now with GreenPower you can make an easy step that will dramatically reduce your household emissions.

Household electricity accounts for 50% of electricity consumption in Australia and the average household is responsible for releasing about 7 tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere from electricity per year.

GreenPower reduces greenhouse pollution and is purchased on your behalf by your electricity provider.  It means that instead of coal being burnt you are investing in the renewable energy industry.

GreenPower is an accreditation program for renewable energy established by the NSW Government in 1997 and now adopted by all mainland States.

When consumers choose a GreenPower accredited product, energy retailers commit to buying a requested amount of electricity from approved new renewable energy sources like solar and wind. GreenPower retailers’ sales and purchases are then independently audited on an annual basis.
