Bushfire danger periods

From 1 October 2009 the Local Bush Fire Danger Period will commence.

Local Bush Fire Danger Period for the Dungog/Port Stephens Council Areas will commence from 1 October 2009.

Any lighting of fire in the open will require the issue of a Fire Permit from either NSW Fire Brigades or The NSW Rural Fire Service.

 

Permits are free of cost and may be issued for a maximum 21 days (if weather permits).

 

Penalties do apply for non compliance or illegal fires.
